Where are you located?

Atomic Chemistry Salon has recently relocated to the peaceful, and friendly Seattle neighborhood of Wedgwood. You’ll find us at 9425 35th Ave NE between NE 94th and NE 95th Street. Our most immediate neighbor is the Fire Station 40.

Do you have parking?

Ample! We have complimentary parking available all around the building and side streets, as well as limited designated parking spots in our garage. The garage entrance can be found just off NE 95th Street. Please park only in the ones dedicated for Atomic Chemistry Salon.

What is balayage?

Balayage is a technique invented in France more than three decades ago. Roughly translated “balayage” means “to sweep” - which is the motion we use when we apply the lightener/color to your hair. This technique gives a soft, sun-kissed effect, which allows for a softer grow-out without a defined line of demarcation.

I have pictures saved on my phone, can i bring them in to show you what i’m looking for?

Yes, absolutely! Pictures are our favorite. Photos you've saved will give us a point of reference to create a custom style/color/cut that suites you. Due to image lighting, filters, and photoshop, in most cases we use them for inspiration, not replication.

Do you have a Play area for my children if they come with me to my appointment?

We understand how difficult it can be to put yourself on the list when it comes to self-care. Being that we are a smaller, intimate studio, and other guests unwind in our quiet, relaxing atmosphere, we graciously ask that your children enjoy a playdate with others while you pamper yourself. This ensures that you and our other guests enjoy their salon experience. Thank you in advance for your understanding.

My hair is really dark and i want to be white blonde at the end of my appointment. is 1 hour enough time?

Sometime we see photos of our favorite celebrity and they seem to go from dark to light in a blink of an eye. This is what we call the "magic" of television. Simply put, it is scientifically impossible to go from really dark to white blonde in an hour or less. If this is your goal, we will work with you to develop a plan and a realistic time frame to get there.

So if i have dark hair, can i not have fun, bright unicorn hair?

Not necessarily. You have a couple of options:

A) In order to give you fun, bright vivid colors, lightening of some sort will need to be done to your dark natural or previously colored hair.

B) There are tape-in extension options that come in bright, vivid, fashion colors and they require zero lightening or chemicals. We always recommend a complementary consultation when it comes to creating your perfect fantasy hair color.

i have hair color at home, can i bring it in and have you apply it for me?

You may have a favorite color brand that you are loyal to. Unfortunately due to quality control and our relationship with REDKEN we are not able to use color that comes from sources other than our own.

can i book an extra service i am not scheduled for when i show up to my appointment?

Please ask us! We always try to accommodate your wishes. If there is time to add a service you haven't scheduled, we would love to make this happen for you.

The salon I was at before sold me a bunch of stuff I couldn't afford, or didn't need. Is your salon 'pushy' when it comes to products?

We're sorry to hear about your previous experience. The products that we use at Atomic Chemistry Salon are of amazing quality, at an affordable price. We never 'push' products on to our guests. In your consultation we will ask what challenges you are having currently with you hair, and do our best to prescribe a solution for them.
